So if you were looking in my playlists and wondered what the different rating meant on the songs, here's a list.
It got started when I wanted to mark which songs I liked on my iPod so I could add them to a playlist. Before I had used 2 stars as a symbol meaning that something was wrong with the song, like it cut off early, or had too much silence at the beginning or end.
3 stars was a symbol that a friend said it was really good and I should check it out.
So therefore, I never bothered rating anything below a 4. The .5's are only online, since I can't put 1/2 a star on my iPod.
So the rating system is based on 5 stars
3.5 stars - Not sure if it's good enough to be a 4. I'll listen to it again... sometime, to decide if it's a 4 or not.
4 stars - Eh, it's an alright song. I'll listen to it every now and again.
4.5 stars - Good song, might be a 5 in the future. I'll listen to it again soon(™)
5 stars - This is some of the good stuff.
5.5 stars - Really good, potential for being higher than 5.
6 stars - Wait, didn't I say I was rating this out of 5 stars? Well this song/track is SO GOOD it broke the scale. There's now a 6 star rating. Some of the best stuff out there. This would show up as 1 star on my iPod.
